Kennedy Chandler has the largest salary for a second-round pick


According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Memphis Grizzlies No. 38 pick Kennedy Chandler has agreed to a four-year, $7.1 million rookie deal. The contract contains the largest guaranteed salary – $4.94 million – for an American second-round pick.

The Memphis native, who was acquired by the Grizzlies in a trade with the Spurs, enters the pros coming off a tremendous freshman season at Tennessee in which he accounted for 33.6 percent of Tennessee’s offensive scoring.
